Ms. Denise Dizzine
Ms. Dizzine worked as a Senior Case Manager in Manhattan Family Treatment Court monitoring parents in substance
abuse treatment
with
the
goal of achieving
reunification with their
children from foster care or preventing their children from being removed. For the past year, she has worked in the role of Child Welfare Court Improvement Project Liaison for Bronx Family Court, where she works
with the judicial
and non-judicial
staff on a local, citywide,
and statewide
level to improve the
outcomes of
child
welfare
cases from the court’s perspective. Ms. Dizzine
is involved with various committees and initiatives in the courthouse and at the citywide
level, which focus on topics such as the disproportionate minority representation of children in foster care and the needs of youth transitioning out of foster care.
Ms. Merline Denis Barrington
As
only the third student from the CUNY system, Merline was offered
the
opportunity to joi n the Port
Authority
of New York and
New Jersey’s distinguished Leadership Fellows program, 2013 class. Becoming John
Jay
College’s first
ever alumni to
join
the program, Merline graciously took on the challenge and often draws from the firm foundation cultivated as a student at John Jay . Merline’s
first Leadership Fellows assignment is within the Human Resources Department sphere heading the 113th Police Academy Recruitment process, leading the efforts to onboard approximately 275 Port Authority Police Officers who
will
keep our ports, bridges,
tunnels and
trade
center safe.
While
rotating in
the HR department, Merline has also worked on several strategies for
integration of work streams and diversity throughout the Port Authority Human Capital department as well as recruitment optimization.
