Job Search Strategies for F-1 International Students

On November 13th we had an event at the Center for Career and Professional Development specifically for International students with F-1 visas. The event took place during community hour and about 15 international students attended.

We discussed how to apply for visas especially the OPT, how to organize your resume according to American standards and how to dress and prep for an interview. The students had some great questions and we had a long conversation about the OPT application process.

Overall the event turned out better than anyone could have hoped for and we realized the need for similar events for international students. So this spring we are planning another event, and hopefully it will be of equal success.
